The new structure will also elevate GCF’s intentional efforts in measuring meaningful community change and data-informed investment decisions.
Robert Killins Jr.
Vice President, Community Investments
Please join me in congratulating Robert Killins Jr., GCF’s new vice president, community investments who will oversee the organization’s grantmaking and strategic investment programs. Previously, Robert served as director of special initiatives, where he led GCF’s impact investment program. Impact investing, an innovative philanthropic tool, offers a low-interest loan to jump start initiatives that generate a social impact. Robert’s promotion is a testament to his tremendous work over the last 14 years. He has successfully grown and scaled GCF’s impact investment program to deploy almost $30 million to address critical community needs, including job creation, economic development and affordable housing loans.
Robert joined GCF in 2010 after a 24-year career at Procter & Gamble. He serves as chair of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC)’s Local Advisory Committee for its Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky office and is a member of the Housing Our Future steering committee. He has an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification from the National Development Council and a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation from The American College of Financial Services. He is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Cincinnati – Class XXIII. Robert serves on the boards of St. Vincent de Paul, TruPartner Credit Union and the Grambling University National Alumni Association. He is a member of the West End Community Council and its immediate past-president.
Adison Nelson
Senior Director, Community Investments
Please also congratulate Adison Nelson who has been promoted to senior director, community investments. In this role, Adison will improve operational efficiency of GCF’s grantmaking and elevate its intentional efforts in measuring meaningful community change and making data-informed investment decisions. Previously, Nelson held the position of director, community strategies, and successfully led GCF’s competitive grant cycles.
Prior to joining GCF, Adison served as director of community relations at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She was recognized as a Cincinnati Business Courier 40 under 40 honoree and a YWCA Greater Cincinnati Rising Star. She is an alumna of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber C-Change (Class 11) and WE Succeed (Class 2) programs, the YWCA Greater Cincinnati Rising Star Board Leadership program and the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio African American Leadership Development program (Class 15). She currently serves on the ArtsWave Community Investment Committee as chair for the Sustaining Impact Review Panel and is a member of the LISC Local Advisory Committee.
